Synopsis
After the union of the universes, Humanity continued to exist. But countless civilisations, people and stories were erased from reality.
For years, the world believed the past was finally protected. Until the first manifestations began.
In Portugal, an investigator receives telephone calls from a daughter she never had. In Ireland, a village appears in the dreams of hundreds of strangers. In other countries, missing people return to homes where they never lived.
The dead are not returning. Something far worse is happening.
Existences that were never part of the new reality seek to claim a place among the living.
Inês Valente, a Portuguese investigator, brings together a small team to discover the origin of the events. But every answer draws her closer to more disturbing phenomena, capable of altering memories, replacing identities and transforming the world without anyone noticing.
The investigation eventually leads her to José Monteiro, the man who retains memories of a Universe that has ceased to exist.
José knows the ancient civilisations, understands the consequences of the union of the universes and has already faced impossible events. But this time, even he does not have all the answers.
As the manifestations spread, Inês discovers that the presences do not merely seek to return. They seek to be recognised as people who have always existed.
And the more Humanity believes in them, the more powerful the threat becomes.
Because some things are worse than dying. One of them is discovering that you never existed.
