For online purchases covered by the ECTA, there is a seven-day cancellation period after receipt, subject to legal exceptions; only legally permitted direct return costs can be charged.
When exercising cancellation under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, full refund of payments is due within 30 days after notification. Receiving and checking the item cannot exceed this period. There is no cancellation penalty; only direct return costs due to a change of mind can be charged to the consumer.
You bear the return costs when returning a book because you have changed your mind. You may request reimbursement of those costs through the website form; each request is considered individually and may result in full, partial or no reimbursement of those costs. The seller bears return costs where the book is defective or the wrong book was delivered.
We send confirmation when the refund is processed. The time before the money becomes available in your account or on your card depends on the payment method and may be days or weeks. This banking delay does not change the deadline by which the seller must issue the refund.
